Of All The Gin Joints...
While gin is not the spirit I naturally gravitate towards, from time to time I enjoy mixing it (literally) into the rotation. So when I discovered this specific gin from New York based distiller Barking Irons, I was thrilled to do just that. My preference in gin tends to be heavy on botanicals, and this beaute truly delivers. Barking Irons uses an apple base, blended with neutral spirits and a citrus-forward blend of botanicals including orange peels. It’s crisp and delicate on the tongue.
And while that’s all well and good, the real reason we love this gin is the beautiful bottle and branding. Natch! The brand celebrates all things New York. It’s made from only the finest NY apples, distilled in the Finger Lakes and bottled in Brooklyn. As they say, it’s “New York to the Core.”
We love to see it.
